Options for joining the VwdA
The Architects’ Pension Fund (VwdA) provides self-employed, employed and civil service architects with a high-performing and secure retirement pension.
Employees
Employed architects can choose to participate in the VwdA instead of paying into the statutory pension insurance scheme. Discover the benefits here.
The self-employed
The VwdA is the compulsory insurance provider for all registered self-employed members of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects, the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Architects and Engineers and the Hamburg Chamber of Architects.
Civil servants
Architects who are temporary civil servants, civil servants on probation or trainee civil servants are generally subject to compulsory participation in the VwdA. Civil servants with tenure for life can use the VwdA as a supplementary pension scheme.
